The most recent memory is the 2023 duel at the Monumental, where he awarded a penalty in stoppage time for a foul by Agustín Sández on Pablo Solari. Miguel Borja converted and gave the victory to River, in a finale that led to confrontations, several expulsions, and the departure of Boca's then-coach, Jorge Almirón. Another key case dates back to 2015, in the Copa Libertadores.
